EDUCATION
Work to ensure programs like Head Start and Raise Your Hand San Antonio are adequately funded and given the oversight to be successful.
SAFETY
Work to expand neighborhood policing initiatives like the SAFFE Officer Program and Safe Routes To School. Supported legislation to make it a felony to commit crimes against the elderly and will focus on addressing domestic violence issues.
JOBS
Work with agencies like the Westside Development Corporation to ensure small businesses are provided the opportunity to succeed, as well as engage the education community to develop a path from school to-work.

• Married to Evelyn since 1971 with 4 grown children and recently retired from AT&T with over 34 years of service
• Education Service Center, Region 20; Board of Directors (2004 to present)
• San Antonio Crime Prevention Commission; Commissioner (2000 to present)
• Northside Education Foundation; Board Member (1995 to present), Vice-President (2003 to present)
• Northside ISD Board of Trustees, elected to 3 terms including President (1990 to 1999)
• Bexar County Federation of School Boards;
• Member, President (1990 to 1999)
• Northside ISD Bond Campaign Committees;
• Co-chair, 2000, 2004, and 2007
• ACCD Citizen’s Bond Advisory Committee and Workforce Development Taskforce, Member (2004)
